Come and celebrate National Lighthouse Day with a weekend of celebrations at North Carolina's oldest lighthouse, Old Baldy!
Celebrations kick off on Friday, August 2nd with a Roaring 20s Historic Happy Hour at 6 p.m. at the Old Baldy Ligthouse.
Then the annual rubber duck race will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at 11 a.m.
On Sunday, August 4th at 4 p.m. will be the Run for the Light and National Lighthouse Day Festival. The festival will include games, free climbs of Old Baldy, bbq, beer, wine and more! The Run for the Light course is a scenic run near coastal dunes and through the maritime forest on Bald Head Island. The whole course features an all-asphalt surface, with splits and water at the 1-, 3- and 5-mile marks. This event is perfect to showcase one of North Carolina’s most beautiful beaches and maritime forests – it will be one to mark off your bucket list!
This year the celebrations will also include a concert by Craig Woolard and Friends on Monday, August 5th from 6 - 9 p.m. Beer, wine, water and soda will be available for purchase. No outside beverages will be allowed. Outside food is allowed.
