Completed in 1958, the Oak Island Lighthouse towers over the Coast Guard Station located at Caswell Beach. The lighthouse lights are 169 feet above water. Instead of spiral stairs to the top, the Oak Island Lighthouse utilizes a series of ships ladders with a total of 134 steps to the top. You can stand at the bottom of the lighthouse and see straight up to the lights at top. Seasonal weekly tours are available.
